“ Just a perfect quirky little place ... Food is delicious, dog friendly , price very good indeed lovely place to take photos of an excellent experience home makes cakes . We all love a little bit of cake ... Get there early to avoid delays as it gets busy quickly ...you can book ”
“ Had a festive afternoon tea here for our wedding anniversary. What a great experience from start to finish. The railway dining cars are absolutely beautiful - comfortable, spacious and warm, even in the depth of winter. Service was outstanding, polite and efficient. As for the food - quite easily the best (vegetarian) afternoon tea we've ever had. And it's one of the few that has defeated us - we had to take a doggy box home. Can't wait to go again, even though it's a 2 hour drive from home! ”
“ We went there for lunch! Food was good! Very very big portions! We could not finish them and had to pack it for take out! Service was good! Accommodative for milk alternatives too. It was a very unique experience having a meal in a stationed train compartment After the meal, we bought homey from the cafe shop! That honey was soooooo good! Best honey I’ve had in my life! Highly highly recommend. ”
“ Afternoon Tea. Exceptional. Really beautiful savoury and sweet selections with a box of treats to takeaway from what we couldn’t finish. The train carriages themselves really transport you into an Orient Express experience. Would love to come back for a wine tasting evening or other night time event. ”
“ We had such a lovely lunch in this very special 'Orient Express' deco style restaurant carriage, with amazing service from the hosts Simon & Diana and staff ... a very recommended lunch venue indeed! ”
“ We had lunch in here last week when visiting the Lake District. What a great place. Dining is actually in old rail cars which is very neat. They also have an old locomotive. The service, food, and atmosphere was outstanding. I had a chicken wrap that was very tasty (the waffle fries were also outstanding). It is a good idea to book a reservation as it can get very busy. It is such a scenic area. Again, amazing and friendly service. We loved our visit. ”
“ My wife had booked an afternoon tea, as a surprise, for our wedding anniversary. I was blown away by the unique setting and the quality of the whole experience. All members of staff we encountered were extremely friendly, pleasant and polite. They had even made a lovely gesture of leaving an envelope on our table, which contained a congratulations card. There is a shop located on site selling a vast amount of quality local produce. This venue is definitely worth a visit. ”
“ Fantastic breakfast in a very special setting. Great value for money. I had the full English and it was really tasty but too much food for me. Very friendly attentive service. The carriage is very unique. Highly recommend a visit. ”
